Since its founding in 1876 as the nation’s first research university, Johns Hopkins has nurtured a community of learners who push ever outward the boundaries of knowledge and use their Hopkins education to make a meaningful difference in the world.
The schools of Arts and Sciences and Engineering, located on Hopkins’ Homewood campus in the vibrant city of Baltimore, offer comprehensive graduate education in 34 programs that span the humanities, social and natural sciences, and engineering. Graduate students work as junior investigators alongside world-renowned Hopkins faculty members, and in so doing, they engage in exciting original research and an intensity of academic experience unlike any other.
